Get Growing

Would you like a helping hand to enjoy your own home-grown produce with zero food miles – well, maybe 10 food metres from your back garden? We grow hundreds of tomato plants each year along with many crops for sale at various local fairs, doing the sowing, potting on and slug-avoidance leg work for you. We also sell seeds in manageable quantities at low prices if you want to start from scratch  – why not enter the results into one of the SusWoT classes at the Village Show.

CHEESE Energy Surveys

The award-winning C.H.E.E.S.E. Project reveals energy waste from homes by using low-cost interior thermal imaging surveys. The aims are to reduce fuel poverty and carbon footprints to mitigate climate change. Surveys require cold weather, so are carried out from November to end March, they are free to low income families. Begun in 2014 with funding from Bristol Green Capital the project has developed and expanded its unique survey method over 4 seasons with highly successful results. Three quarters of those surveyed take remedial action within three months and landlords (including the Council) are persuaded to improve properties.

SusWoT is a C.H.E.E.S.E. Project partner. We promote the surveys at our Autumn and Winter events.
